GRADING SYSTEM

 

GRADE REPORT

The school year is divided into four grading periods. At the end of each grading, a grade slip indicating the student’s progress is given to the parents during the Home-School Association (HSA) meetings.

 

 

GRADING SYSTEM

Palawan Adventist Academy adopts the Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 8, series of 2015.

 

Grading System for Conduct

SCHOLASTIC AWARDS

 

 

HONOR ROLL

 

Every grading period, student’s achievement is recognized. The awardee shall have:

  • A general average grade of no lower than 85 in a grading period

  • No Conduct Grade lower than ‘Satisfactory’.

  • No grade below 85 in ANY subject. This includes component subjects.

 

ACHIEVER

 

Achievers are students who maintain:

  • A general average grade of not lower than 85 in four (4) grading periods

  • Conduct Grade not lower than ‘Satisfactory’

  • No grade below 85% in ANY subject. This includes component subjects.

 

Achievers shall be recognized with a medal during the awarding ceremony that will take place before the commencement exercises. They shall be categorized as follows:

MAJOR GRADUATION AWARDS

 

1. PAA EXCELLENCE AWARD

 

This award is given to seniors who have maintained academic excellence by keeping their grades above most of their classmates from first to fourth year. The student should have:

  • Residence at PAA from 1st year to 4th year

  • No Conduct Grade lower than ‘Satisfactory’ during the current school year.

  • No grade below 85 from 1st year to 4th year.

 

During the graduation exercises, awards and citation will be given according to the following ranks:

                          PAA ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE                    91.50 and above

                                  PAA PAR AWARD                                   89.50 – 91.49

                              PAA LEARNER AWARD                              88.00 – 89.49

 

 

2. SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN

These awards shall be given to the TOP 2 of the graduating class respectively, which will avail of college benefits accorded to such academic achievements. The recipient is chosen by the faculty using the following factors:

  • Awardees must have at least a year of residency at PAA

  • Leadership positions    (Grade 10 offices)       – 30%

  • General average           (Grade 10 academics)  – 70%

 

 

3. SPORTS AWARD

This award is given to students who do not have a failing grade in all subjects (including component subjects) and still excelled in sports. Awardees should be a member of a sports club or has manifested a good example of true Christian sportsmanship. Recipients are recommended by their coach and advisers then chosen and approved by the faculty.
